The moment you lay your eyes on it you immediately notice "oh Shaft anime!!!". It initially sets itself up as your average Fate/ anime but then diverges into its own thing. Recurring characters were pleasant to see again, like coming across an old friend from the past. Still the same essence, yet different and evolved. Characters I didn't like were improved upon and characters I loved were still the same old but toned down a bit. Saber especially was a joy, which makes sense considering the situation. It did fell a bit flat when the last few episodes rolled along but it seems there's more where this show came from so who knows, maybe those sequel episodes will be the ribbon I hoped for.
